Khaled Husseini is a great story teller with an invisible ability to tie the reader emotionally with the charecters in the story. The thousand splendid suns will definitely make your heart heavy and breath tighten. The story focuses on life of two Afghanistan womens with different family backgrounds. It also go through hardship of women, child marriage and marital sex. The charecter in the story plots the life of Afghan residents during the war from 1960 - 2005 It starts with 15 years old mariyam, an innocent and anxious girl who lives in Herat with her bitter mother who constantly reminds her that she's an illegitimate child and she's a mistake of her father. In her childhood she never understood anything that her mother spilled but impatiently waited her father to visit them.
